Gangtok: Miss India Sikkim Sang Doma Tamang was presented with the ‘Miss Active’ title during a function in Mumbai on Sunday, ahead of the Femina Miss India 2019 pageant on June 15.
The sub-contest was all about athleticism and physical fitness. Tamang took part in almost all the sporting activities held by the organisers, including an awesome 5.45-minute-long plank pose.

The 19-year-old Gangtok native is among the 30 girls participating from different states in Femina Miss India 2019. The grand finale will be held in Mumbai on June 15.
“I am ready for the grand finale. I will do whatever is possible from my side. Whatever happens, I will take it in a positive note and be happy. I have already gained a lot of valuable experience and there are a lot of takeaways for me from participating in the Miss India finale,” said Tamang.

Miss India is the nation’s foremost beauty pageant, and a competition which has the power to change lives. Miss India has expanded over the years with various sub-title contests offering opportunities to even those who do not make it to the top three.
Currently, Tamang and other fellow competitors are engaged in participating in different sub-title contests like ‘Beauty with Purpose’, ‘Miss Photogenic’ and ‘Miss Vivacious’, among others, along with shooting assignments for various sponsors. They had arrived in Mumbai on May 7.

“Since arriving here, we have been attending grooming sessions followed by photo-shoots, appearances and taking part in the sub-title contests. We are doing activities from morning till late evening. Sleeping hours are less but no one is complaining. Everyone is enjoying their memorable moments here and learning new things. I have been taught a lot especially how to present myself and have developed good confidence,” said Tamang, who is pursuing BA Honours from Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College in Tadong .
Despite her hectic schedule, Tamang calls her family daily without failure and shares updates on both sides. Her road to Miss India started with Miss Sikkim 2018 organised by Positude. She was among the finalists and got an opportunity to take part in the Miss India auditions in Guwahati.
